Google Translate and other online machine translation tools can be a very sticky subject for language teachers. Errol O’Neill’s research indicates that even when these tools are forbidden in  the classroom, up to 88% of students still use them to complete assignments. Episodes 88 and 89 is a great conversation between two teachers/researchers, and will help you make good decisions about how translators and dictionaries can be used in your classroom.
