I’m Stacey Johnson, and today we have a special ACTFL18 bonus episode of We Teach Languages specifically for our listeners who will be at the ACTFL convention in New Orleans next week. I have three things I want to talk about that just can’t wait until our next episode!
First, if you are thinking about which sessions you want to attend, I hope you’ve had a look at the Google doc I set up with all the sessions from our We Teach languages contributors. Did you especially love Catherine Ousselin’s episode 18? Or were you most excited about Dorie Conlon Perugini’s interview with Michael Byram in episode 73? Is there another guest you would love to see live and in person? Check out this link to the Google doc find out when all of your favorite We Teach Languages contributors will be presenting.
Second, I would love to talk with you at ACTFL. In addition to wandering around with my microphone interview unsuspecting passersby, I will also be available to talk about We Teach Languages at the PEARLL booth in the exhibit hall on Saturday from 2pm to 3:30pm in booth 1807. So, if you want to be interviewed, or just ask some questions about how the podcast works, please come visit the PEARLL booth #1807 in the exhibit hall on Saturday 2-3:30pm.
Finally, I want to enlist your help. There are going to be so many opportunities to connect with We Teach Languages guests and contributors at this ACTFL convention, and because of ho w tightly scheduled I will be, I won’t be able to get around to all of our contributor’s session myself. That’s where you come in! If you go to a session by a WTL contributor, there are a couple things you can do to help out. First, write up a brief summary that includes your takeaways from the session. Just a few sentences is enough, just to give those of us who couldn’t make it an idea of what we missed. And also, take a picture!! My favorite would be if you could take a selfie with the presenter and post it on social media or email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any session takeaways or photos that you send to us or post on social media we will try to include in next week’s newsletter.
So, please 1) check out all the sessions that our guests and contributors will be doing at ACTFL, 2) come find me 2-3:30pm in the PEARLL booth, and then 3) send us your takeaways and selfies with WTL contributors.
Thanks so much for being a part of the podcast, and thanks for listening. Bye bye.
